Sami al-Arian: Turkish referendum is about the system, not just Erdogan
Dr. Sami al-Arian was the best-known American political prisoner of the post-9/11 era. (He’s now free after being deported to Turkey on February 4th, 2015.)
The Turkish referendum that just changed the parliamentary system to a presidential one has gotten bad press in the West – both in the MSM and in much of the alternative media. It has been presented as a power grab by neo-Ottoman “Sultan Erdogan.” But is there another side to this story?
In this interview, Dr. Sami al-Arian, a Palestinian-American who resides in Turkey, explains why Turkey may be better off with a presidential system. (The parliamentary one was extremely unstable, allowing the military-based deep state to repeatedly stage coups and coup attempts, most recently last summer.) Dr. al-Arian suggests that the Western media’s hostility to the referendum, and to Erdogan, may stem from Western policymakers’ fear of a strong, independent Turkey.
Check out his article: Turkey, Erdogan, and the Wisdom of the Presidential System
Sami al-Arian was the most effective Muslim-American electoral-politics organizer in history. But he became a victim of that success when, after delivering the 2000 election to George W. Bush, he was railroaded out of the University of South Florida and into prison by a hysterical 9/11-addled lynch mob…a campaign which, like the 9/11 false flag operation itself, was led by Zionists terrified of losing their grip on US foreign policy, which would mean the end of their genocidal settler-colonial entity in Occupied Palestine. Listen to Sami al-Arian on my earlier radio show: Sami al-Arian: Why I put Bush in the White House…and lived to regret it

IT’S OUR MONEY with Ellen Brown
Global Bankster Fallout & Irish Public Banks
When economic towers collapse, effects are felt. In the case of the recent, sudden and significant drop in oil prices, pain may reverberate around the world as major financial institutions are put at significant risk of failure. And then there is the fallout from bank failures that become stratagems for global bankers to take new control of countries. Ellen examines these important developments and talks with Irish political leader Mark Dearey who is actively supporting creation of public banks to help recover from virtual extortion by global bankers. And co-host Walt McRee talks with economy-reformer Marc Armstrong about his new “Commonomics” initiative that aims to unify citizen activism to protect and support public assets. Recorded in 2015 but still relevant today.
Co-hosted by noted public banking author Ellen Brown and PBI’s chair and media guru Walt McRee, each episode of “It’s Our Money” offers new perspectives, deeper information, and articulate interviews with thought leaders and activists fighting for a democratic and just economy. Join Walt and Ellen, with reports by economic justice advocate Matt Stannard, and guests who connect the dots on public banking, the restoration of the commons, global finance, and more. A Public Banking Institute Presentation.
