Banned-Books Week

This week’s show coincides with Banned-Books-Week, and Mickey spends the hour with five guests, representing a variety of perspectives, but all in agreement on the need to defend peoples’ right to read. The topics of discussion include the origin of Banned-Books-Week, the ongoing attempts to restrict what students may read in school, and the continuing importance of comic books and graphic novels in today’s media world.

Abena Hutchful is with the Youth Free Expression Program at the National Coalition Against Censorship. Charles Brownstein is Executive Director of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. James LaRue directs the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom. Peter Glanting and Adam Bessie are cartoonists and co-creators of Trump Universe, a chapter in Project Censored’s just-released Censored 2018 book.

The Antidote

The Anthem Protest Psyop

The Anthem Protest Psyop and the Stage Managing of Radical Dissent Greg and Jeremy discuss Trump’s condemnation of NFL players protesting the national anthem and the factors which appear to be truly behind this manufactured controversy. We also discuss the similarities between the apparent stage managing of Colin Kaepernick’s radical dissent with efforts to control Martin Luther King’s activism prior to his assassination. Finally we talk about the alt right’s embrace of Yair Netanyahu, the son of Benjamin Netanyahu, and how this may signify the start of an alliance between the right in Israel with that in the West.

Ante: a stake put up by a player in poker and similar games before receiving cards. Our goal is to elevate and enhance the conversation within the “alternative” media by bringing hard hitting and fearless analysis on the most important issues of our time. Hosts Greg McCarron and Jeremy Rothe Kushel provide a perspective that you won’t find anywhere else. if you are looking for a cure to your media ailments, check out The Antedote!!!

The Global Dominance Group and 9/11 — Peter Phillips

Presentation by Director of Project Censored, Dr. Peter Phillips, at the June 4th, 2006 “9/11 Education and Strategy Conference” in Chicago. Dr. Phillips covers the rise of the neocons and their agenda, who benefited from 9/11 and permanent war, the complicity of the corporate media, and the stolen presidential elections.
